The Lincoln is running!!!!!!!
August 15, 2003 - When I first started up the Lincoln it was blowing out tons of smoke and the lifters where clack'n away. The back of the garage looked like a fog bank had moved in with a big nasty black mark on the wall where the exhaust was aimed at. Now that I have started her a few times she is running smooth and clean. I had to adjust the the choke to lean it out. This cleared out the black smoke that was coming out of the exhaust. Also I have to replace the water pump, its noisy as hell. I went ahead and ordered a pump from Kanter for 115 dollars. To get her out of the garage I had to use the emergency brake since I haven't plumbed her up yet. I feel like a WW2 fighter pilot trying to pull out of a dive when I drive the lincoln out. I have to grab the emergency brake and give it a good pull and I always feel like Im making .."Scared as hell that she wont stop face". Im still nervous as heck about making the brake lines since mine look so terrible. Transmission wise, the car seems to work better every day. Rick did tell me that it might take a little while for the fluid to get circulated back around. Im really impressed that I don't have any leaks on the car yet...no oils or tranny fluids spewing forth. I have decided to go ahead and purchase the wiring harness instead of making one..I love the idea that they come with identification tags indicating where to hook up the wire. Now that I'm able to move the car out of the garage, I can finally get to my tool box and not have to climb over the rear bumper and bang my head on the bikes I have hanging on the back of the garage. Also with the car came an assortment of spiders that took refuge in my garage..started to look like a haunted house.
